HOUSE CATS
These days, almost every cat organization, breeder, or guide will tell
you to keep your cat as an indoor pet only.
Indeed, the outside
world is often hostile toward cats.
But equally though, there are many dangers for curious cats within the household.
House Cat Care
Cat-proof your home:
Cats are naturally inquisitive creatures.
While your home may not seem all that dangerous, plants, products,
appliances, and furnishings found in the home can harm a cat.
Cat proof you're home, by making sure there are
no possible hazards such as open windows or toxic substances, and try to
keep exposed electrical cords to a minimum.
Common household items toxic to cats include antihistamines, antiseptics, aspirin, bleach, chocolate,
cleaning products, disinfectants, insecticides, laxatives, lighter fluid, nail polish/ remover,
perfume, sleeping pills, solvents and stain removers.
Although you cannot prevent all accidents, common sense and a
careful check of your home can help you avoid some of them.
